People in several departments invest months of time planning each performance – each with its own interest and priorities. To get a better grasp on what each department needed – and how we could use the web to make their life easier – we spent a day interviewing each head, listening to their ideas and hearing their concerns.
Our finalized ‘site priorities’ document, which made architecting this immense site a relatively simple task.
From here, we marked up our unique templates, over thirty in total, and delivered valid XHTML page templates to their development team for CMS integration.
As the centerpiece of the site, the 'show' page serves as an information portal for each production. Users can view cast, scene clips, view showtimes and purchase tickest.
Rather than overwhelming the user with a long, scrolling page - we present a lightweight, easy to intuit design featuring the latest shows, upcoming showtimes and the latest news.
Showtime calendar that can display as a grid or a list format.
Geffen's staff was perpetually bogged-down with phone calls asking for directions, parking tips and other related information. We made this easy to find in our updated contact page.
Because donations are a large portion of Geffen's revenue, we built a custom page detailing their importance and making it easy to contribute.
We sat with the Geffen staff, interviewing each department head on their specific needs for the site and prioritized their goals with relation to ticket sales. These conversations became our guide in information architecture. Since launching, site usage has increased markedly and online ticket sales have grown steadily. All goals met on time and on budget.
